The Union County Red Ribbon Event is one of Union County's premier family events. Last year, over 3500 residents participated in the days activities. Those activities included a countywide parade, attractions for children of all ages, helicopter landings, and much more.
Red Ribbon week honors the memory of USDEA Agent, Enrique Camarena and others, who lost their lives in the fight against drugs. Kicking off this week is The Union County Red Ribbon Drug Awareness Event and D.A.R.E. Day. The event is an opportunity for Union County to come together and celebrate another step closer to a drug free Union County.
During the days leading up to the event, helicopter landings take place at various schools throughout the county and the Air and Army National Guard pilots encourage youth to stay drug free. New for last year, the Coalition has also partnered with the Union County D.A.R.E. Association to host both the Union County Red Ribbon Event along with the Union County D.A.R.E. Day.
